Whats the best way to get rid of a mildew odor? and Can mold form in less than 2 years in a stagnant wet car?

Q. My 2nd car was sitting still and getting wet for about 2 years. How long does it take for mold to form? There is a terrible odor; could that just be mildew? What's the difference between mildew and mold? Should I be concerned with my health? The car has leather interior if that helps. I tried shampooing, vacuuming, and airing it out multiple times. Still stinks! Thanks.

A. Mold can happen very quickly so can mildew. Mildew is easier to get rid of than mold. Yes you need to be concerned about your health-mold can be very toxic. What I would do is take it to a professional cleaner and see what they say. It maybe a total loss.

What helps in both hair loss and dandruff?
Q. I need a shampoo that works in both hair loss and dadruff. I can't use two shampoos at once. I tried it and my hair breakage increased. Currently I am using Head & Shoulders. Can you please suggest one?

Also Does Dove help to volumize hair? If so which one (please tell me by its colour)? Should I use it ?

A. Beat two eggs and add two tablespoons of water to it. Wet the hair and apply the egg mixture over the hair. Now massage your scalp and let the mixture on for ten minutes to fifteen minutes. Then rinse the hair with lukewarm water. This will keep both dandruff and hair fall problem away from you. More simple remedies for dandruff at http://usefulinfo-dandruff.blogspot.com/

How much wet food should I feed my fat cat per day?
Q. My fat cat is currently eating 1 cup of dry weight control IAMs food per day. He needs to lose more weight so I read somewhere that he can lose weight if I feed him more wet food. How much of wet food should I feed him if I eliminate dry food altogether or should I combine both dry & wet per day? I'm not sure about the quantity of wet food is equivalent to dry food? He loves wet food and I wouldn't have a problem switching. He eats anything you give him.

A. IAMs pretty much sucks, especially the weight control formula. Instead of using ingredients that would actually promote weight loss, they stick a whole bunch of indigestible fillers in the ingredients. Corn, soy, wheat and gluten (and all variations of these ingredients) are completely indigestible by obligate carnivores such as cats.

Wet food can definitely help your cat lose weight. It will not be cheap, but it will be much better for both weight loss and his overall health, since he is a male cat. Male cats are more prone to urinary problems and keeping hydrated on a wet diet really helps to prevent more problems.

When choosing a new food, remember to look for whole, named meats and meat meals as the first ingredients. Avoid corn, soy, wheat, gluten and animal byproducts (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Animal_by-products ).

Here are some really great brands to consider:

Natural Balance http://www.naturalbalanceinc.com
Blue Buffalo http://www.bluebuff.com
Felidae http://www.canidae.com
Chicken Soup for the Pet Lover's Soul http://www.chickensoupforthepetloverssoul.com

Just a small note, try to avoid feeding excessive seafood flavors. Feeding a lot of fish has been linked with urinary problems.

Whatever diet you choose, read the back of the can to determine how much to feed your cat.

Best of luck!

When it rains the walls and windows of a house get wet. How does the drying process increase the cooling?
Q. When it rains the walls and windows of a house get wet. How does the drying process increase the cooling of the house?

A. Through the process of evaporation. Evaporation is a cooling process that removes heat energy from the surface the water is in contact with. Just as you feel cool when getting out of the water on a breezy day, because the evaporation of the water on your skin removes heat from your skin, thus you feel that loss of heat as coolness.
