Why are weight lost programs really popular when America is fat?

Q. I never got how America is obese yet there are weight lost scams everywhere.

A. About 2/3 of Americans are overweight...not obese. We are almost the fattest first world nation and the reason is simple. We have an abundance of good things to eat and really, really, really bad health education in public schools. So, generation after generation we see young people growing up to be fat while looking for easy ways to do hard things. You can see that dynamic at work right here in YA....adolescents constantly asking for easy, fun, simple, and fast ways to lose fat. And, it's not usually for health but to have a cool beach body or to look good for some special occasion. The ignorance is appalling and the expectations of entitlement are pathetic.

The solution to the problem is simple. It's education. The man who turned the US against cigarette smoking, Surgeon General C. Evert Coop, was going to make his next assault on obesity. However, the administration changed and he had to step down.

Good luck and good health!!

How is weight lost in decomposing matter?
Q. Like say I have a bottle filled with grass clippings, if I poke a few holes in the top and leave it for 3 weeks the weight after 3 weeks will be less than when it was previously. So how exactly is the weight lost? Where does it go? Links welcome thanks.

A. When water evaporates or when bacteria farts. My answer might sound funny, but I'm a lifelong composter and it's just like the last person said - only simpler.

Does weight lost from a fruit and veggie fast stay off?
Q. I'm planning on doing a 5 day fruit and veggie fast, eating only fruits, veggies, organic sunflower and pumpkin seeds, organic raw almonds, organic apricots, water, baking soda and green tea. Trying to lose weight AND detoxify myself. Gonna exercise 1.5 hours average on the 5 days everyday. Will the weight lost stay lost or will it come back after I start eating normally?? thanks.

A. Well, one time wont hurt, not for weight loss purposes, but for your organizm cleanse. I'd say go for it, but dont do it again.

Sorry, but weight loss doesnt work that way... you lose muscle and tons of water NOT fat while eating that less. So it is big query will you be happy with the results... it will keep off like for 1- 2 lbs, but you will gain the rest, likely. You can try after those 5 days dont start to eat whatever you ate, but get in regime slowly. I mean dont eat crap for 5 days more (but eat lean meats, whole grain bread and do NOT undereat, just eat less that you would eat). So you body wont be shocked and keep off your pounds easier.

How noticeable will weight lost be after starving yourself?
Q. If I work out on a treadmill for about 2 hours, and starve how long will it take for me to notice weight lost?

+Please don't say "starving is bad blah blah blah","Just do this diet".
Just answer,please ^^.

-thanks

A. I won't say its bad, i'll just tell you the facts about weight loss via starvation.
Fact 1: In the beginning, you will lose tons of weight. A lot of it will be water and muscle, but some of it will also be fat. You will get thinner
Fact 2: After a little while, your metabolism will slow down, and you will stop losing, and potentially gain
Fact 3: You'll feel tired and hungry the whole time
Fact 4: You may lose hair, get a sick complexion, lose eyelashes or eyebrow hairs, or faint
Fact 5: After doing this for a long amount of time, your body will become used to it. Your metabolism will be extremely slow, and you will stop losing weight. Everything you eat will be turned directly in to fat to keep your body alive

You said don't say its bad, blah blah blah. Fine. But those are the facts, and if you do this "diet" (aka, eating disorder) than, to put it simply, you are f-cking yourself over.

Good luck
