What's the difference between an all women's health club/gym and a health club where both men and women?

Q. My husband tells me that I should join a women's health club because the exercise equipment there is more suited for women's bodies. I don't believe him. I think the only difference is that men are not allowed to join at the women's club (like Curve's) while you'll find both women and men at the regular health clubs like Gold's gym, Bally's, Fitness Connection. Please someone confirm for me if there is any other difference. I also feel that if I join a women's only club, there will be less variety of equipment and less classes for me to participate in than if I join a regular health club/gym.
This is in the United States (Texas to be more precise).

A. Depending on the club, there is little difference between men's and women's equipment or facilities. To me the real reason that there are all-women's clubs is not just to keep away the men who want to hit on women, but there are a lot of women who feel self-conscious about their "imperfect" bodies and just feel more comfortable in an environment where they don't have that added embarassment of the opposite sex watching them as they are trying to improve themselves.

What do prisoners do when they exercise in prison?
Q. I read all this stuff in health and fitness magazines about exercise. They say you have to do this and that, eat this and that. But I'm pretty sue that prisoners don't have the time to make sure they do things like eat 5 whole eggs in the morning and things like that, yet, I see some pretty muscle bound guys come out of prison. Some people look at them and say: "Now those are prison muscles". What do these guys do?

A. Men's prisons have a weight room. Women's prisons have outside equipment for pullups, situps, etc. and they speed walk. They also get store money to buy stuff and they gamble it so some of them have extra food. They all have assigned jobs to do but also have free time.

How healthy is green tea for you when attempting to quit soda and coffee?
Q. I've currently revamped my whole lifestyle when I deployed to Afghanistan with the Army. I've got nothing to do here, so i'm focusing more on my health and fitness while I am here. Besides my new work out regimen, i'm trying to stop drinking soda, coffee and anything with sugar. So my question is, is Green Tea a healthy choice or should I just continue drinking water only?

The Miracle of Green Tea

"Better to be deprived of food for three days, than tea for one." (Ancient Chinese Proverb)

Is any other food or drink reported to have as many health benefits as green tea? The Chinese have known about the medicinal benefits of green tea since ancient times, using it to treat everything from headaches to depression. In her book Green Tea: The Natural Secret for a Healthier Life, Nadine Taylor states that green tea has been used as a medicine in China for at least 4,000 years.

Today, scientific research in both Asia and the west is providing hard evidence for the health benefits long associated with drinking green tea. For example, in 1994 the Journal of the National Cancer Institute published the results of an epidemiological study indicating that drinking green tea reduced the risk of esophageal cancer in Chinese men and women by nearly sixty percent. University of Purdue researchers recently concluded that a compound in green tea inhibits the growth of cancer cells. There is also research indicating that drinking green tea lowers total cholesterol levels, as well as improving the ratio of good (HDL) cholesterol to bad (LDL) cholesterol.

If I drink 10 to 15 alcoholic beverages a day am I healthy? Will I live longer than most people?
Q. I was reading a health magazine and it says one to two drinks a day is good for you? I thought that I must be the healthiest person alive becouse I drink 10 to 15 a day. Does this mean I will neve get sick and live a very long time. I don't know alot about health and fitness. Should I start drinking more than I am now?

A. No,you wont live longer than most people instead you will die earlier than others. The recommended alcohol intake for men is 3-4 units a day.And for women its 2-3.units/day.

You're already an alcoholic coz u drink more than what is recommended. The liver is a lot like the air and oil filter systems of an engine which needs normal cleaning and maintenance. If these engine filters end up dirty, obstructed, and over worked, they malfunction and eventually the engine breaks down. This is what occurs in the body and at some point an overloaded or dirty liver filter may cause far reaching signs of poor health in the body.Livers can repair themselves to a certain point. If its too damaged, it can't come back, or may only be able to recover partially, or be easily damaged.for more information about the side effects of alcohol, you check the site http://alcoholhelp.co.uk/facts-about-alcohol/
