What are some good foods/supplements for women of childbearing age?
Q. I had a miscarriage recently. Since then, my body has "stalled". I'm not having periods. What are some good foods or herbal supplements that promote women's health that would prepare my body for future pregnancies? Any advice will help. Thank you!
A. foods rich in iron and folic acid (like dark chocolate :)) calcium, ..basically a balanced diet is what you want. also try supplements. I took femMED (which has chasteberry/vitex, saw palmetto, wild yam and raspberry in it,> all fertility boosters and hormone balancers in it) and I became pregnant in a month

What is the best vitamin for a woman to take?
Q. I am a 30 year old woman on a diet and I was wondering the best vitamin for a woman my age to take. I just want a one a day vitamin preferably and not a whole bunch of bottles to have to carry around with me. I also cannot take the vitamins for the increased energy due to sleep problems. I cant have anything with caffine.
A. By the best vitamins I imagine you mean organic natural vitamins and not the synthetic stuff. Organic are gentle on the stomach and have a higher absolution rate. I would go with Nutrilite. They have organic farms in Washington State and California and were the first supplement company. Go to http://Arcameda.com and click on vitamins then Women's Health.
For a woman above 30, don't settle for one multivitamin. If you don't want to carry around a bunch of vitamins, get the Simply Nutrilite Womens Supplement Pack. The vitamins are pre-packaged in little sets of three so when you leave home, you just grab a pack. The pack contains a calcium, omega 3s, and a daily multi.

What are the negative health effects from too much poultry?
Q. In an effort to eat less red meat, I've started eating lots and lots of turkey and chicken. Are there negative health effects to eating too much poultry? And would these outweigh the benefits of eliminating red meat from my diet?
FYI - I am a 28 year old woman with no health problems, just trying to make good decisions!

A. Poultry is much better for you than red meat but possible negative health effects would in most cases be due to polluted or infected poultry.
