How can I find local physicians looking for work?

Q. My family just opened a business that requires a physician for 1-3 afternoons throughout the week for a physician assisted weightloss program. We currently rotate with a select few that we know when they are available but we are wanting a more permanent doctor to take over. Are there any online resources to find local physicians how could be interested?

A. Call your State' s Medical Board. Each state has one--it is a good dependable resource.

And congrats on new BIZ!

They ought to have a referral program and or website you can post on.

How easy is it to lose 1 pound in 1 week?
Q. I was trying a weightloss program where I had to drink a shake and a few other things in the morning. I weighed myself today and I lost 1 pound in a week. I did no excercise. Is it possible that the shakes I was drinking caused me to lose a pound or was it something else?

A. Losing 1 pound per week is a REALLY great expectation to have. It's normally easy to lose the first 10-15 pounds (depending on how overweight you are to begin with). But, if you do a good job staying under your calorie limit and and exercising regularly, 1-2 pounds per week is a really realistic pace.

is it safe to continue to diet while pregnant?
Q. I am currently doing the LA weightloss program, and I have had a lot of success from it, however, I was wondering if anyone else had dieted to lose weight while pregnant. This diet involves eating healthy foods 6-8 times a day. You have to have a certain amount of servings of each food group a day. My question is, Is it safe to lose weight by dieting healthfully as long as the baby is still growing and healthy?

A. your gonna get fat regardless, so why diet.

Is it common to feel sick just after you have started a (diet and excercise) weight-loss program?
Q. I just started a (much needed) weightloss program on Saturday and I felt fine then and on Sunday but now today (Monday) I basically feel like if I'm coming down with a flu. It it because my body is reacting to the change in activities and my new diet or am I just coming down with the flu.

A. That's a good question. When I went on my diet-and-exercise kick, I went through sugar and simple-carb withdrawal (really!) for about 4 days. I felt like total sh+t because although I didn't eat massive amounts of sugar my body was craving those simple carbs. So it depends...have you cut out certain addictive foods like wheat or sugar or dairy? are you overexercising? Play it by ear and wait a few days. If you feel worse and worse, go to the doctor. But keep in mind that you could be adjusting, in which case you'll feel worse tomorrow then start feeling better.
