Been doing the O diet, want to switch to a more inclusive weight loss plan. Any suggestions?

Q. Been doing The Blood Type O Diet . Burned out and still have weight to loose. Want to follow a non so restictive meal plan which produces weight loss. Any suggestions? Something that will not make me ballon up in pounds the minute I sniff a carb!

A. wow...you're going to have to be verrrrrrrrrrrry careful here. Switching to even a low calorie diet will probably cause weight gain initially. I'd be looking at 1200 calories a day and see how your body reacts. Then, if all seems to be going well, add 100 calories a week to your diet until the balance starts to shift back to weight gain (if that doesn't happen right away). The only thing that will really help here is exercise in order to offset the effects of introducing carbs back into your diet. Hopefully you're already exercising 30 to 40 minutes a day on this low carb program. If not, strap on the running shoes or you're libel to see a rapid weight gain even on a low cal plan. Have a look at this site it might give you some ideas...good luck..

A. hi
Try this link ,it has a lot of information on weight loss tips so here goes ,
If you are serious about losing weight, the calories in the food you eat should be less than the energy you use. You will have to increase your metabolic rate now, and plan your diet carefully.
Formulate your own weight loss plan and you will lose weight faster. More details available at http://tinyurl.com/m7ckx

What is the best method for successful weight loss?
Q. I am attempting to diet via counting calories... and treadmilling 45-60 minutes per night..... but am not satisfied with the weight loss.... any suggestions?

A. Counting calories isn't necessarily the best way. The KIND of calories you eat, such as lots of veggies, lean protein, fruit, skim milk, whole grain carbs that make up those calories are very important. I used to not think so, and I've lost a large amount of weight 3 times in my life. This time, however, I have continued to eat healthy and exercise and the weight has stayed off. So, you have to change your MINDSET and way you think about eating. You are not on a diet, per se, you are eating in a healthy way that you will continue even after you've lost your weight.

As for the exercise, treadmill is good, as is just about any other aerobic activity you can engage in. However, on alternate days, I highly recommend strength training. As you lose weight, if you are developing lean muscle, your metabolism will increase as your body has to work harder, even at rest, to maintain lean muscle than it works to maintain fat. Most people make the mistake of neglecting to strength train. I am a firm believer in it.

How do you break a weight loss plateau?
Q. I've lost 30 lbs and can't seam to drop the last 15 lbs. I need some tips on how to break through a weight loss plateau. Any suggestions? Please no acai berry crap and other spammy stuff. I'm looking for legitimate ways.

A. This is a problem that many people come across when they're trying to lose weight. Whenever you hit a weight loss plateau, this is a sign that your body has acclimated to your diet and/or exercise routine.

In effect your body has become more efficient at burning calories. What needs to happen is you need to change things up a bit. Some simple things you can try are increasing your exercise intensity levels. Another tip is to change up your diet some. Try doing a low carb diet for 2 weeks then switch back to your normal diet.

Everyone who is trying to lose weight will eventually hit a weight loss plateau if they arent changing the things they are doing.

Ill leave you some ehow links below that talks about weight loss plateaus and how you can speed up your metabolism.

Hope that helps and good luck.
