How long will it take to lose 60 pounds for a guy?

Q. I am 223 pounds at 14 teen starting high school. I want to lose about 60 pounds. I play basketball for my school, and football for fun. I have been portioning my meals, and cheat sometimes(which i will stop!). I ride my bike to and from school. What other workouts can I do to speed up the weight lost? Also, what foods can help me too?

A. It sounds like you get plenty of physical activity. The main thing seems to be diet. Some of this is just common sense - avoid soft drinks and junk food. These things still have calories and if you eat/drink them, they can still be stored as fat. In fact if you can cut your diet by 500 calories a day you can lose up to 2 lbs a week just from that. But the point is that you cut calories you don't need - again soft drink and junk food. And instead replace those calories with say fruit - something much more healthy.

You'll also want to avoid starchy foods - stuff made from potatoes. And pay attention to what the ingredients are in the stuff you eat. If you read the label on the back and what you eat contains high fructose corn syrup, its sugar. Don't eat it.

Eat plenty of fiber and drink plenty of water. At first this might make you gain a little wait. But as your body adjusts your digestion will improve and you'll lose weight more effectively.

Overall you can lose 60 lbs. But it may take a few months. And even longer if you keep cheating.

To lose weight not only you have to workout but you need to concentrate on your diet as well. Eating the right type of foods also help in reducing weight, which comes naturally. No one loses weight overnight, it takes time and determination. Proper diet, regular workout and intake of right foods, fruits and vegetables will make you lose weight faster than you expected


What the cheapest weight lose between the two counting calories or low carb diet?
Q. Yes i i know exercise is cheaper but i plan on doing that anyway.. I've done both weight lose in the past but i can't remember which was cheaper(as far as food)... Both require different foods..

A. As far as money...I don't know. But, think about your health first. Low-carb diets are NOT good for you!!! Please just count your calories (not going below 1200 or 1400 calories for sure) and make sure everything you eat will fuel your body.

Q. What are your top 5 tastiest food that can be considered for people who are on weight losing diet. Name food that have almost no fat and very little calories.

A. I'm not on a diet but these are the healthiest foods I like:

peanut butter and apples or celery

tomatoes and basil with balsamic vinegar and olive oil tortilla wraps with grilled skinless chicken breast

egg white omelet with canadian bacon and low fat cheddar

tortilla pizza with canadian bacon or chicken breast fresh tomatoes basil and low fat part skim mozz

spinach salad with grilled skinless chicken breast, diced apple, thinly sliced red onion and apple cider vinaigrette made with 1/2 c olive oil, 1/4 c apple cider vinegar, a little bit of sugar, salt, 1 tbs of mustard whisk together and drizzle over salad.
